Senior Minister: Stephen Cathcart
Stephen has been in church ministry for 25+ years and has been leading Southern Church since 2012. Stephen is a communicator and a storyteller with a passion for expressing both the theological and practical Christian life and experience found in Jesus. Stephen also serves as a scripture teacher and primary school chaplain.
Stephen is married to Angela and they have three adult sons. They live in Albion Park and enjoy the wonder of God’s good creation with both the mountains and the sea at their doorstep.
Stephen completed a B. Ministry and M. Theology at ACOM College and is an Endorsed Minister with the churches of Christ NSW and ACT.
Assistant Minister: Belinda Lakelin
Belinda joined Southern Church in 2023. Her role is to help our church connect with our community and connect our community with Jesus. Before joining Southern Church, Belinda worked as the Evangelism Consultant for the Baptist Association of NSW and ACT. Belinda works three days a week for Southern Church and is also completing her Master of Ministry through Melbourne School of Theology part-time.
Belinda is married to Tim and they have four teenage/young adult children. She enjoys playing in a midweek netball competition and meeting new people.
Belinda is a Provisionally Endorsed Minister with the churches of Christ of NSW and ACT.
Church Board
The church board consists of volunteer church members and meets at least once every six weeks. The board works closely with the Senior Minister. The Leadership Board is given the responsibility and authority to see that the Church remains on a true course Biblically, that its members are appropriately shepherded, that the body is being fed through insightful biblical teaching, and that the life of the Church is being well managed with the assistance and support of other competent leaders.
